Rear breaks

Post by Roelof Robbertsen »

My name is Roelof Robbertsen from the Netherlands,

Please can you help me with the small rubber ring in the rear brakes. It’s not possible in the Netherlands to get one. One of you has a size of this ring or an address.

Not sure what rubber ring talking about. First thought perhaps the rubber ring / seal between each caliper half.

Suggestion www.partzilla.com look at parts diagram for your Gold Wing. share number on diagram, also...what year is your GL 1000?

for example, I looked up rear caliper for a 79. Other GL 1000 may be same....

Or post the part # in your search engine

The eBay link posted by Joneszy is a good one..... Just a thought, Roelef, is there a car parts store in your area....such as a Brezan? The small O ring, is used in many calipers.....Yes there are some different sizes...but, for example, older Girling and Sumitomo (English and Japanese) some Brembo (Italian) ...many countries and lots of cars used split calipers. Many motorcycles too.... Might be that a person behind the parts counter can match the size you need and cost ...almost nothing.

The correct part is available from Randakk:

'Impossible' is just a level of difficulty! The only stupid question is the one you didn't ask first!

( Seriously, you haven't read all 115 pages of my http://www.wingovations.com website ?? )
