Bought 2 more goldwings

Post by Valk. »

I have a 1975 goldwing I bought several years ago thinking I would someday bob it. I soon found out there were some parts missing from the engine. So I set it to the side and started on my 2006 Shadow Bobber project. Besides working on it I was also working on other friends bikes and four wheelers and everything else. I finally retired in 2017 and have been messing around with bikes just when I wanted to and not really getting much done. I am now in the process of starting up my shop with the intention of trying my hand at creating Cafe' Racers. Everybody is building cafe bikes from the older CB's and english bikes. I have seen a few goldwing builds and decided to drag out the old 75 and see what I could do with it. I was thinking I don"t have a clue what I am going to get into with that engine that's missing parts. So, I have bought two more in the last week, a 76 and a 78, both running. When the 76 was delivered to the shop I found out it has a 1985 1200 engine in it. Then I got in a 1978 with a 1000 engine that was practically donated to the project at $300. Now comes the fun part, tearing them down and building my cafe' out of the parts. Wish me luck.
Oh, by the way, this time it is a custom shop only, not a service and repair shop. That might sound a little selfish but I figure after 50 years I deserve a little my time.
