I had literally never realized that this was a problem for anyone. But then, I've been putting bikes on centerstands since my first Super Cub, so I guess I just adjusted for weight changes over the years.

I will also say that the GL1500 is easier to stand than was the BMW R1200RTP that I recently got away from -- and the BMW was significantly lighter. The geometry of the lever (that you put your foot onto) is a LOT better on the Wing. It's not even a matter of rider weight -- you are pulling directly away from the lifting handle/chicken bar.

When intending to park for more than a day or two, I prefer to stand it rather than lean it.

With the gold wing being a flat six engine - Your always better putting it on the centre stand !! - I have heard story's of them being left running while there on the side stand and blowing up !! due to no oil on one side of the engine there !! .

So i never take the chance just incase !! ...
