CB PTT has a delay on 2007 Wing

The CB has a delay before the mic (TX) works after the PTT switch is pressed on the handlebars. RX works perfectly.
Bike is a 2007 Goldwing.
Any idea where to begin troubleshooting? Thanks.

How long of a delay are you talking about? I constantly have to remind folks in our group to key the mike, wait a second, then start talking. It takes a second to connect. They're all like that.

Thanks for the reply, but I'm not talking about a normal delay. I've very familiar on the Goldwing and Harley CBs. As a matter of fact, this delay is random. Sometimes there is no delay, and others just the roger beep is heard. Corded headset too.

Possible contact issue on the PTT switch. Yeah, your finger is mashing it down, but maybe the contacts aren't catching.
