Carburetor rebuild help needed
Carburetor rebuild help needed
While disassembling the carb a small stainless steel alignment sleeve dropped out onto my mat. For the life of me I could not figure out where it goes. Bike is a 2000 GW 1500 SE. I know of the larger alignment sleeves for the top plate, but this is the smaller one. Any help would be greatly appreciated..

I'm almost sure it's for the acelerator pump; there aren't any other matching removable parts.

Mario, you are a life saver!! When I removed the accelerator pump I put both of the screws back in the carburetor so I would remember where they came from. One spacer stayed in the carburetor and the other spacer was still in the Excelerator pump and I didn’t notice it. I couldn’t sleep last night trying to figure out what the heck that was for. Much appreciated for your helpI can’t believe you caught on and figured it out you must know your carburetors well. Two thumbs up!

Now all you need to know is where that piece of clothes line clip belongs....
(in jest of course!)

I'm selling good clean fresh hay. If you want some that's already passed through the horse, that comes a little cheaper!

You're rigth, I know the carbs for I've worked on them many times, after you install them make sure to follow instructions in the shop manual, ( I assume you have it) syncing them well, also the idle drop down procedure.
It pays well to spend time in this job.

Completed reassembly last night, primed the carb, crossed my fingers and she fired right up and ran great...!! She has a very slight surge at idle and I am hopeful this will go away when I sync the carburetor. So happy to have her up and running.

Carbs have been rebuilt, all hoses replaced even the ones under rubber mat. This will not run unless choke is on. Seems to be getting to much air. Could it be the air inlet solonoids

Could be, or any vacuum leak or fuel restriction.
