Carb cables

Post by Popsicle »

Hello: Just finished rebuilding carbs and upon reinstallation throttle is hard to pull and sticking . I am thinking cables were worn in and now displaced in housing ( 91 GL1500).I lubed them and no difference. Has anyone seen this before? I was chasing lack of mileage and found no reason. Vacuum hoses’s were in like new condition. Timing belts done, new plugs and air cleaner prior to carbs being removed which were nice and clean. Thoughts anyone?

Cable routing can make a big difference. Check the FSM for the proper place for them.

Carb cables were unchanged routing and are nice and free without the carb hooked up.

So are the carbs hard to move without the cables hooked up?

carbs move freely just have spring tension on them.
