clutch cylinder losing fluid

Post by shawnee1952 » Thu Jan 16, 2014 10:41 pm

I am pretty sure (well OK not pretty) that I am losing fluid from my slave cylinder for the clutch. I cannot see any wet spots on the outside of the engine. Could it be bypassing the piston rod seal and getting into the engine? Is there a video somewhere showing the removal and rebuild of the cylinder? I know this is the best place to ask and I appreciate all responses Thanks.

yes it can directly leak into the motor, it is built like a brake caliper with a inverted push cup

It's also fairly easy to remove without disassembling the entire bike!! LOL! If you find that it is leaking into the engine oil, make sure you replace that as well.
