1984 Aspencade radio volume

Post by cdouglas » Tue Jun 01, 2010 7:00 pm

New user, will greatly appreciate any assistance. Installed xm radio using a fm modulator. It made the radio volume low and after unhooking the xm it remains low, barley adudible. Mute is not on, have checked the fuses in the left fairing pocket. When the ignition switch is moved between off, acc and on the sound spikes up for an instant but immediatley goes back to very low. Any assitance or ideas appreciated.

Maybe the auto-volume has gone hay-wire??

Yup, I'd look at the auto-volume - does it not hook up to the speedometer somehow to adjust volume according to speed? I seem to remember someone else here having the same problem. Do a search and you'll probably find it.
