Make sure you do the physiotherapy religiously. You will get there.
I second this. I used to blow off physiotherapy, but after they managed to cure something in a few weeks that had been a problem for over a year, I'm now a total convert and believer!

I took a bad fall last March and my right shoulder hit a rock.....
talk about hurt, that one made me think of the baddest words I ever spoke.

wasn't even moving, just sitting still on a grassy slope, and the soil just suddenly disappeared under the scooter's tires, and down we went.

still going to PT twice a week, it is better, but still not full range of motion

It will probably take a little while for the strength to come back - hopefully it will not be too long.

Which foot did you break?
it wasn't a matter of strength it was the vibration coming from each bike. broke my right foot
today was my first day back at work, it didn't take much walking to get my foot inflamed. we do a lot of walking on my job and today was a very slow day

It has been my experience that the older I get the longer it takes to bounce back from an injury, Keep up with the twice a week PT even after they release you. Hope you get back up to 100% soon.

I slept soo rough Thursday night / Friday morning, my foot was soo sore I ended up back at medical. they really didn't do much other than give me a compression sock. later Friday the compression sock made my foot swell, I was truly run down and after leaving JW's I went home and fell asleep. I remember talking to Peewee ( my sister ) and later peeling that compression sock off. this morning it was as if nothing ever happened so I went for my first short ride and got murals at Maplewood and grandriver and heavy equiptment on 7 mile east of beech, not bad for my first ride in over two months

Today I finally got around to overhauling the clutch master and slave of my 89 GL1500. I only noticed there was a problem few weeks away when I saw a paint bubble on the plastic below the MC. I had to have it done by this Friday as I had organised a VJMC overnight run to MT Seaview NSW just to ride a fantastic bike road called the Oxley Highway and Thunderbolt's Way. Aussies reading this will most likely know of the Oxley.
Also, I had to get a ride in before the weekend to see if I could handle the bike after busting my left foot in New Zealand last March (a Super Tenere fell on it - long story). I've only been back on a bike since a fortnight ago when the swelling of my foot had gone down enough to allow me to get a new pair of boots as the my old left boot was a write off. I'm hoping insurance will cover it, and the new pair of Dry Rider Adventure pants and a new Aldi helmet (the paramedics sliced and diced my old pants).
The clutch overhaul went ok as I had a mate from Bathurst come up to Newcastle (near my home) to pick up some 58 Honda Dream C71 mufflers that had been rechromed). I really needed his help as I had put my back out last Thursday and would have struggled getting to the slave cylinder as it was fiddly getting to it but all went well. Except for for mate who cursed a PO that had used thread locker on the slave bolts. Why would anyone need thread lock on those? Sheesh.
Anyhoo, I'll try and get a ride done tomorrow which will also be the first test of a new Euro windshield I fitted some time ago and the same goes for a new pair of Dunlop Elite 4s.
I've done one ride on my FJ1200 and another on my FJ1100 (which also needs a clutch MC overhaul) and all went well.

Got back from the ride mentioned above, did about 700klm. During the ride I found the clutch MC leaking from the cap and dripping fluid onto the plastic panels below. Turns out I had left out the white plastic cap that fits above the rubber seal, I found it on my workbench under an ice cream tub I had been using to keep the MC parts in after I cleaned them. I had not noticed it missing when I refilled the reservoir as I am used to not having that type of cap on my CBs and FJs. Washed the bike and put it away.
Also, the new low Euro windshield made the buffeting noise worse. I'll be putting the OEM shield back on for the time being.

That's very, very bad. Brake/clutch fluid will destroy ABS (and paint) on contact. You can expect the plastic panels onto which it dripped to start deteriorating and cracking. The glycol in the brake fluid causes catalytic embrittlement in the plastic, a chemical reaction on the molecular level that leads quickly to cracking and failure. It is also a very effective paint remover.

The white cap is what pushes the rubber seal against the edges of the reservoir, sealing it. Without it, as you discovered, the seal doesn't do much sealing.

In about an hour I leave to go to the VA hospital for my 2nd round of Nuclear Heart Stress Testing. Had the first round this past Friday. Wonderful. Love getting stuck with needles and radioactive dye shot into my body first thing in the mornings lol. Can't have my morning coffee, anything to eat, (fasting for 12 hours), only "sips" of water to wash down my morning meds. Maybe now the dr's can finally figure out what's wrong with my heart and fix it. AIN'T LIFE GRAND LOL.

You're right about the cracking, it has started and I suspected the fluid was the cause as you have now confirmed. I will have to track down some replacement panels but don't know of any dismantlers here in Oz that specialise in GWs.
