I need to pay more attention here. I kinda pushed things a few weeks ago and the thread is rolling now. gonna get out today and get me an oil well. Too bad I don't have one in the back yard.

Riding Season is here and the weather is beautiful. I hope you all are doing well and are ready for another year of exciting adventures. Jump right into the game, see what the current tag is and keep your eyes open while traveling, and see if you can find the tag before anyone else does. Have fun, be safe, and Enjoy the Ride.

Got out last night and got the oil rig.

Image

Took a long ride and went through the small town of Merom, IN. They were having their annual festival. they call it a Chautauqua, probably an Indian reference. The painted a new mural on the main street and I took a picture of it with the Gold Witch. Had a couple of pretty girls as well.

Image

There is a bluff overlooking the Wabash river into Illinois that is very nice. The mural is a good one. On my ride back storm clouds started brewing and I took this shot (much more impressive in person) and it captures an airliner going around, and in-between two storm clouds. Happens all the time but you rarely see it from the ground. I watched it for several minutes.

Image

Got home dry. Next tag will be your bike and a new home under construction.

I know this won't count toward a TAG but here is a photo from a previous unanswered request. Bryce Canyon National Park, Utah. Last week. Hard to read but that reads 8,819 ft.

I guess that everyone has lost interest in this photo tag challenge or no body is riding (which I can't imagine happening) or the photo tag wasn't interesting enough. With that being said, it has been over a month on my last tag. I am going to change my tag to::
New photo tag, a country rail road crossing that has no lights or gates, only a stop sign

Here I´m waiting to ride and play this game; it's been some time without doing it, to make the story short, first was my right hip replacement, (05/17), then problems with forks/tripple tree (11/18) that were solved by 02/18, and on 03/28/18 due to a hard effort I ruptured # T12 vertebra; which has healed successfully.
Anyhow I´ll be waiting few more months (mid September) before start riding again, then yo'll find me here.

Gypsy42 welcome back, haven't heard from you in quite some time. Glad to hear you are recovering, should be winter time down under. Take care and heal quickly.

Thank you wingman12, I'll do my best to fully recover and be back on the road ASAP.
And yes it's winter here, but mild one, very seldom it gets below 40's, so is always good time to ride.
We had a snow fell once back in 07/2007 here; and it was after more than 100 years.

Please clarify... "Stop sign" or just no barricade.

You won't find one of these in the UK. Even the loneliest, most rural crossing will have a gate. There are some rail crossings for pedestrians without a gate, but even crossings which are limited to farm traffic have gates. Even the half gate types are now gradually being replaced with full gates.

I noticed all over the north western usa and Canada, there are no gates or lights. Most were private crossings and they had a stop sign to let you know that you are on a private road.

I suppose it is down to the amount of use the railway gets. I live in a rural area, well away from London, even so, the the local line which runs through my village has a train in one direction or the other every 15 minutes or so, at least in the day time. There are no trains at night except the odd maintainence ones. When I visited the USA I was surprised at the lack of train services, though I was surprised at the sheer size of some the freight trains - they must have been nearly a mile long.

Most of the rural crossings here don't have stop signs. They just have a crossing sign which isn't the same as a stop sign. In fact I can't remember seeing a crossing with an actual stop sign.
