I also have a 2017, and would love to do this, but I didn't see the same white/black wire. It worked perfectly on my 2010, so I'm really hoping to learn what the right wire to cut is. I'm also hoping that the same hack will allow me to adjust the headlights while in motion as well.

Hope someone can help bought a 2017 wing new and would like to do this mod. I bought a simple open close switch mounted it in the left fairing pocket. I cut the attached wire ( see picture) hooked it to the switch and tried it while on the stand. It made no difference if I turned the switch on or off. Am I doing something wrong with the sequence or did I cut the wrong white black wire (hope not). This wire is right beside the relay box and is the only 6 pin wire I can see that is white black. I could not find any 6 pin closer to the trunk. This wire does run back towards the truck wire mentioned earlier
So hope someone that has done the mod will chime in
Thanks.
Did you ever figure it out ?

You cut the right wire, Terrydes, but it won't make a difference while sitting still. While you're in motion, turning the switch off will make the bike think you're at a dead stop. You'll see that even though you're still moving, the GPS is not. Power up the GPS, then when you turn your switch back on, you'll see the GPS jump to your current position.

Now if we can only do something similar for the headlight adjustment...

Hi everyone, excuse my scant knowledge of English.

Question: When we cut the wire, it is necessary to put a switch, or it can be cut forever...

I installed the "over ride" switch for "Turning on the GPS without stopping" on my 2008 GL1800. It works only if the clutch lever is pulled in. It does not work while normal riding. After the GPS is working, I change the selector switch back to normal.
To anyone that did the switch mod and still needs to pull in the clutch try this. Instead of pulling in the clutch press the engage the RVS switch. Wait 2 to 3 seconds and access your nav system. If you had done the relay mod you wouldn't have needed to use the clutch.

Anyone with a 2006 - 2008 USA or 2006 to 2010 Canadian goldwing you must do more than the switch mod.

Please read my original thread on this mod.
