Newbe

Hi to all, from Spain.
I own a PC800 89 and I'm very happy with it. Perhaps some day will buy a GW (since I own this I see the GW better...hahaha)!!!
I like to do mods on my bike and sometimes I visit this forum to see GW mods (sometimes have similar steps).
Now I am trying to solve rear wheel premature wear in my PC800 (premature chunks in rear wheel). I am considering to fit a rear car tire, because I only have 2 tire options (dunlop K555 and metz ME880), and I know that with these 2 tires I will change tires every 6 months .
For my specific year model (1989) have more difficulties to find a tire than in other year models (they have less problems to find one to fit). If somebody have the same model and year of motorcycle, and have passed to the dark side or know other tires that I could fit in my bike, please let me know. I appreciate all the info.
Great forum.Thanks.

If you are having premature wear, with chunks of rubber coming off, I'm guessing that you have the Metzeler 880 mounted on your bike, as Metzeler tires are well-known for delaminating and failing early on. There used to be an Avon that fit the rear, but it's not available any more. I have an Avon Roadrider on the front. I don't know of any car tire that will fit the rear.

You're right.I waste a lot of money with the last 3 tires.Last rear delaminate with 5 months age and 5kmilles.Thanks for your answer.I need to do something different this time, because I'm Happy with this bike but Metz and Dunlop tires aren't the solution.I'm ready for the dark side if is needed. But my space in the rear wheel zone is a problem. I,ve read that its posible to fit a rear Car tire in a PC800, but I must be sure that fits in a 89 model. Any help else?.

I have read of two tires that people have put on the rear of a 1989 PC800...but I can't confirm that they fit without modification. They are:

Nankang CX668 (145R15)
Toyo 310 (155-80-15)
