I used to like the Dunlop E3s, but since they changed to the E4, I will not try out the front E4 as it has a center rib tread design and through my many years/miles of riding experience, ribbed tires tend to follow tar snakes/road irregularities and are affected far more by grated surfaces (like grated bridges) than a tire with a cross tire tread pattern, like the old E3!!!
I know nothing of the rear E4, but I have since switched to Avon Cobras up front and a CT for the rear.

They work well, but I put on avons cobras after dunlops. A bit softer, so wear quicker, but better grip and feel in dry and in rain. This is just what it felt like, not scientific fact. Avons do like to have a slightly higher pressure in them. New tyres will feel great after old ones, whichever you choose. Got to agree with dusty on centre rib though. .

like oil, everyone has their favorites. I used Dunlops for a long time on several different bikes, I switched to Bridgestones and really liked them. I'm not sure but I THINK Honda is Bridgestones on the new wings.Someone with a new wing can chime in with the correct information on that.
Also many riders like Metzllers.

I have a rear E4 with around 5k miles. I really like it a lot. Nothing negative to report. Still not showing wear and best of all no cupping and no noise which was what I hated about the E3s. I just put one on the front so nothing really to report yet except that it is smooth and "silent".

I put MT4's on my GL1500 last year, and I love 'em. I replaced the 3's, which still had some life in them, but weren't sticky enough for my liking & they howled like a lonely dog in turns. The 4's are far quieter, seem to have far better grip (especially under braking!), and don't exhibit tramlining like the 3's did.

I can't speak to their longevity as I haven't put enough mile on them, but so far (a couple of thousand miles) there's no visible wear, and no loss of performance.

To be honest, I was thinking of going away from Dunlops after the 3's, but I'm glad I stayed with them now. No complaints from me!

I put a pair of E4s on my 1500 last summer and have 8000 miles on them. I like them so far. No noise like the E3s.

New E4 on the rear last summer, the E3 on the front still has 3/4 tread. The E4 is much quieter than the old E3. The bike drove very well to Michigan and back last year, 2-up and pulling 500lb camper and gear. As stated, not yet enough miles on it to judge longevity...
They say 98% of all Hardleys ever made are still on the road..... The other 2% made it home.

I put an E4 on the front about 6 months ago and did the rear a few weeks ago. There is a little noise when cornering, but not bad.

Last spring I installed front and rear E4's. Now,at the 12,000 mile marker, time to replace. They have been a good tire for our 1500, still have about 1/4 tread life left, slight cupping(which after 12,000 miles,to be expected)but have started to follow every tar snake, and the grooves in the road, making for a unsettling ride.Wife and I always ride two-up,40 psi front,42 rear. Am happy with the life of tire, but may try out Bridgestone this time around, previous to the E4's,we had a set of Avon Cobras,,handled great, only got about 8,000 miles from them, and they started being noisey on turns from cupping at around 5000 miles, but still handled well, never snaked like the E4'S. Just my .02 cents.....

Run Bridgestone 701 on my 1500 and an Austone taxi tire on the rear. Just replaced the first Bridgestone after 20k miles. The rear Bridgestone got less than 6000 miles thus the car tire. Ride 2 up mostly.

Put about 6000 miles on my E4's . I have no complaints. They still look new. I will definitely buy them again.
