This is my baby...
She is wicked fast, the 3;40 rear pumpkin mod, and running top notch....
Super fun, always wanted one since they first came out in 83, but the wife said NO.
I bought her in 2008 from a fella that had owned 3, since 1983, and he was just 'too old' to ride her anymore.
He knew I was gonna love her, as he did, so we signed all the paperwork over and money paid, ready to load her in the truck, when he noticed her drip some gas, he looked at me, peeled off $300 of the money I paid him, and said "get that fixed".
I have ridden her to 8 states, several 700 miles, 3 day weekends, my favorite being Arkansas, around Harrison...
I bought the Wing in hopes my wife will start riding with me, if not, I'd just as soon be on "Maggie".

I bought one of those for my son in '82 or '83 ??
he loved that thing....
his first trip into Albuquerque going to meet up with friends, he was traveling north on Juan Tabo Blvd NE, which is situated "downhill" from the Sandia Mountains.... ( we lived in Cedar Crest, NM at the time )
There came a Flash Flood up in the hills that he was not aware of, and it rushed across the intersection of Lomas Blvd & Juan Tabo just as he got there.....
Washed him right on down the street to the west on Lomas Blvd a good long ways before he could get to "high ground".

I have one of those out in my shop, my son's. They are wicked fast. Hard for me to hold onto those bars when I gas it, don't have the grip I used to.

Re: 1983 V65 Magna
I had an '83 as well. Local kids (3) on Z1's always wanted to race, I always refused. One day, I gave in and agreed to run stoplight to stoplight - about 8 miles. I was parked when they rode past - and they didn't bother to stop. "Wicked fast" may be less exaggeration than some people might think!
First kid arrived, and Better Half said the kid would never ride it with me. (She wouldn't either - my bad!) Since I watched the kid 2 days out of 3 (job schedule was good that way), I didn't get enough ride time to make owning it worthwhile. Finally sold it - to somebody who totaled it in less than 60 days.
Both our kids did ride with me many years later, on an '02 BMW R1150RT. So did the Better Half, finally.
Now, I'm old and like comfort - GL1800 for me!

Maybe so, but it's GREAT fun to keep up with a "Crotch Rocket" on the Interstate while riding my Goldwing. The looks I get from them are priceless!
