Hard starting when engine is warm

Post by vaughn » Sun Jul 01, 2018 10:06 pm

My 1983 Goldwing started getting hard to start when engine is hot.
I had the carbs totally rebuilt 3 years ago by Pistol Pete.
Last year I replaced the coils with ones from a 1500.
I put new spark plugs in last year. I always shut the petcock off when I stop. It takes a lot of time before it fires. It runs good after it starts.
I want to know what to check .
Thanks

Check that the fuel is not leaving the carburettors. Long cranking could indicate empty carbs. Normally carburetted engines start nearly instantly.
