Fuel leak
My 2008 airbag has a fuel leak. When I turn the engine cut-off switch to run (ignition on), I get a second or two hiss when fuel sprays and the a fuel leak. With the ignition or Engine cut-off switch engaged, the leak stops. I have not had this bike apart. Ideas on the cause and the fix?

Re: Fuel leak
Where exactly does the fuel come out? The pressure line comes from under the seat, along the right side to the fuel rail on top of the right head and a crossover line goes across to the rail on the left side. A return line goes back to the tank but it doesn't have any pressure on it so I doubt it would leak unless disconnected.

Re: Fuel leak
Do you smell gas ???
If not, then you probably have no gas leak and you are hearing this. Anytime the kill switch is on and the key turned to the on position, the fuel lies are primed by the electric fuel pump under the seat. For about 2-3 seconds it can sometimes be heard. On hot days, when the engine had been running, as the system self primes, often it purges out aerated gas. On colder days, the gas is more liquid and not heard.

Re: Fuel leak
I saw your FB post.
WOW ... that unusual. It's coming from an area where there are coolant clamps. Probably the edge of a coolant clamp has worn a hole in the fuel return hose. It is important that the hose clamps are positioned correctly, as well as the rubber mat that separates 2 coolant "Y's". That actually means that there a 6 clamps in that area. Between them is a rubber mat. The rubber mat protects coolant hoses from other hose clamps as well as protects the return hose. The seat, shelter, and fuel tank will need to be removed for proper inspection and repair. The hose goes between the fuel pressure regulator and the fuel tank's pump. Therefore, the cowl will need removed too for access fuel pressure regulator. I cannot recall if the regulator will need removed too, if so, you will want to order in the 0-ring under it. Be sure to order in new clamps for the fuel hose.
It is best to have a Honda Service Manual so that the routing of the all hoses and the rubber mat corrected and to verify that the hose clamps are properly positioned.
