Cost effective bluetooth for 2000 GL1500 SE

Post by Kas413 » Tue Jul 10, 2018 10:33 am

I am entertaining the notion of going Bluetooth with my wing, but after some research, it appears that if I go with a 3rd party, such as SENA, I would need to purchase two Transmitters (https://www.cyclegear.com/accessories/s ... r-goldwing) $249.00/each ($498.00) plus two headsets (https://www.cyclegear.com/accessories/s ... c-is-max-2) $179.10/ea ($358.20) plus tax (8.5%) = $928.98 to outfit both helmets with Bluetooth sets (approximately).

Now I know I can go through Sierra Electronics and get their J&M Custom BluHub® Bluetooth® Cell/Smart-Phone/GPS/RadarBeep Terminal for Honda GL-1800 & F6B (https://www.sierra-mc.com/proddetail.as ... -CGBH-GL18) for $499.99, plus a custom cable for $50, for a total of $549.99 + tax.

I would remain tethered, but would, presumably, have more options, such as I-hart radio, cell phone use, etc.

Does anyone know of any other options that would work well?

Does anyone have any experience with the Sierra Electronics J&M Custom BluHub® Bluetooth® Cell/Smart-Phone/GPS/RadarBeep Terminal?

Thank you,
Ken

I just converted my 2012 to Bluetooth using the Sena S20EVO's and Freewire. I found everything new on Ebay for around $800. After a little "tweeking", we love it.
