Freeway pegs

Post by ve5bbt » Mon Jul 30, 2018 8:31 am

Does anyone out there have any pics or info on extended " freeway" pegs for an 83 Aspencade ?
I'm 6'4 and find the stock pegs very uncomfortable for any distance. Any ideas would be appreciated.

I've gone through a few different designs.
Most will not clamp tight enough onto the engine guard and start slipping. Only solution is once your sasyfied drill a hole and insert a screw. This sux when selling the bike, that hole looks terrrrrable.

There's one that clamps onto both top & bottom bars and a peg mounting bar between. Slide fore/aft until satisfied.

Most Wings have that rearward LOOP that's bent outward and hits our legs. 1997 they cut the top bar out and installed a bullet plug in the bottom. I took this idea and cut both top & bottom and inserted flat plugs, looks OK. The bottom bar has 2 mounts for strength, the top is questionable why it's there.
I have replacement bars and plan on installing the slider peg system. Homemade, mostly from chrome parts, might get to it early next week. So "IF" you're not in a hurry you'll see pix.
My cost for this Double Bar is less than $30. Now add $$ of your choice of peg.

Took a look at the parts today... NOT gonna happen. :(
All the 'Online measuring' before ordering parts was fruitless.
Still wasn't enough room behind to clear the valve cover.

DANG they looked good.
