When You're Hot You're Hot!!!

Post by Solina Dave » Mon Aug 06, 2018 5:45 pm

I'm up here near Toronto at 6:30 pm. I was just checking out the current temperature in Phoenix. It's 3:30 pm, and it's 113ºF. Is anybody out riding in that? And if you are, what are you wearing? And how's your ride? Tell me about it. Is it good? Is it bad?

Cheers.........Dave

I can't speak for the Phoenix guys, but it regularly gets around and above 100* out in my area. I ride in the heat, and it's not too bad. My commute is 65 miles in afternoon heat and back again after 2 am. The ride home is more comfortable at 70*.

I lived in New Mexico, about a hundred miles from Phoenix, for three years. We regularly rode in temps up to 125 degrees. In summer, if you want to ride, you need to ride in the heat. I have seen it not drop BELOW 113 overnight even. There is virtually no humidity, so it is not as sweltering as it is at 90 degrees with 90 percent humidity. I far prefer it without the humid factor. In the Southwest, all a person needs to do is keep their head covered and keep hydrated. It ain't bad. And the sky is huge and blue.
It ain't about the destination - it's all about the journey
