GPS daylight saving time problem

Post by Grundy » Tue Aug 07, 2018 10:01 pm

Hi I have a new 2018 Gold Wing DCT Tour and work in Saskatchewan and live in Manitoba. Clock is on Manitoba time which is right in Manitoba when I go over the border into Saskatchewan my watch and I phone change to Saskatchewan but the bike stays on Manitoba time. I have tried everything to get it to change and nothing works it is supposed to do it by GPS but it is not working has anyone else have this problem or is it just my bike.

I can't help with the problem but I do sympathize:
I live about 5 miles from the Eastern/Central time zone line in east Tennessee. My Hyundai Elantra's GPS "found" the time zone line change about 17 miles east of the actual line. I had the GPS map software updated ($100 (yikes)) and it now finds the the time zone line about 10 miles west of the actual line.

Maybe it's something in setup. I have a '17 and it has changed seamlessly from the start. Freaked me out because I've never had one do that. Not in my cars or on the Garmin Navi is used to use. I was so fascinated by it I started watching the clock as I would cross a time zone. It's usually within sight of the sign.
