GL1500 stumbles

Post by Butthead » Fri Aug 10, 2018 2:53 pm

89 GL1500 runs fine until warmed up then sounds and acts like it is running on 4 cylinders. Have replaced fuel and air filters, plugs but no difference. I am hundreds of miles away from any shops and further from a Honda dealership that can work on this so any help would be much appreciated

When you get it to act up slowly pull each of the 3 plug wires on one side..one at a time..not completely off but enough so you can hear the snap... Do they all sound the same?

I would troubleshoot fuel starvation from a compromised vacuum line to the petcock.
If the petcock's vacuum is poor, it won't flow enough fuel.
When all else fails, RTFM!
