2002 honda silver wing odometer problem

I jus purchased this 2002 Silverwing it is in immaculate shape.Has 50108 Took it out for my first ride about 110miles when I got back still have 50108 0n digital readout and .3miles on Trip A and B.
What could this be and is it an easy fix everything else on cluster is working just fine tach and speedo is reading speed. Thanks Lugwrench.

Being a digital odometer, I assume it reads pulses from a sensor on the front or rear wheel. Hall-effect sensor with a passing magnet or similar. This is how the speedomrter worked on a cheap quad bike I hired once... I know, because I broke the sensor!
