Re: Correct instrument colours/faces
FWIW, Back to the original question regarding gage face colors, I am very fortunate to be the proud owner of 3 Gold Wings, 2 of which are 1976 GL1000s. As you can see from my avatar, my 'standard' Wing has green faces. However, my LTD has black faces (see attached).

I have to amend my comment.Goldwing7777 wrote: ↑Mon Sep 03, 2018 5:25 pmThanks SnoBrdr ... but I did say "... in the UK ..." because we have had a 70mph limit for years ...
The eBay listing address is :- https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/HONDA-GL1000 ... Sw7UZbNlRT
It is the second picture from the left that shows the red mark.
Pistol Pete of Pistol Pete's carb rebuilders just completed a restoration of GL serial # GL1-1000002.
That bike clearly has the red mark at 70 MPH.

Re: Correct instrument colours/faces
I think we need to know if Pistol Pete bought and fitted new faces - and chose the one with the red mark?
[I have not sorted mine yet - fairly low priority.]

My understanding is that the bike was brought back to 100% original condition.Goldwing7777 wrote: ↑Wed Oct 03, 2018 6:00 pmI think we need to know if Pistol Pete bought and fitted new faces - and chose the one with the red mark?

PP also redoes gauge faces.

Re: Correct instrument colours/faces
A friend of mine has an original 1975 CB750K2. This DOES have the red 70mph mark. Same clocks as the early 'wings, so makes sense that 'some did and some didn't' I guess.
