1983 GL1100A Pulling the motor - any suggestions?

Hello all.
I will be pulling the motor on my 83 1100A in a few weeks, due to starter clutch stuck, and wanted to know if anyone has any advice or tips, and what should I do to the motor while it is out?
-Timing belts?
-Clutch?
-Stator?
-Rings?
-etc...

With the engine out it is a good time to check the Pulse Generators (pick ups) and that the mechanical and vacuum advance are working properly. With the engine in the frame the swing arm needs to be removed for access. It is also a good time to clean the pick up screen for the oil pump. This can be done with the engine in the frame but is way easier with it out.

Do the timing belts for sure & clean the oil screen as already mentioned. How many miles on it & how much are you willing to spend?
1 tip, just unbolt the intake runners from the heads and tie the carbs up to the frame.

+1 on the oil pickup screen. Very easy to do out of out of the frame.

Check your pulse generator gap.

Make sure vac advance is working.

I did a new clutch and springs while mine was out, might not be a bad idea depending on your mileage.

Stator shouldn't be necessary unless you were having charging problems before.

Unless you know when the timing belts were last changed, it's a perfect time to do it.

Clean that sucker up and give it a nice coat of paint!

The toughest part is getting that d*** cir clip off the drive shaft.
