Windshield adjusting

Post by quest4life » Wed Sep 05, 2018 5:56 pm

I have a v stream windshield which apparently is slightly thicker than Factory. Is there a way that I can still make it slide up and down? I have a 2000 SE.

My Tulsa Tall is the same way. The only way I can adjust it up and down is to pull the front garnish off, loosen the screws, and make the adjustment, then re-tighten the screws and reinstall the garnish.

I wonder if you could put a nylon washer in between the slide bracket and the windshield allowing it to slide up and down. Might be worth a try.

No, the problem is that there isn't physically enough space in there. If you put a spacer between the metal oval pieces and the slide mechanism, the window is then too far out for the garnish to fasten in place (and the window scrapes on it).

There are different thicknesses of the rubber parts that sandwich the screen, but your 2000 should already have the thinnest versions.
