LED Driving lights

Post by FirstWing1982 » Sun Sep 09, 2018 5:28 pm

I have a 1982 GL1100 and am thinking of putting driving lights in the area of the air vents in the fairing. I would rather not make any permanent changes to the fairing. Has anyone used this location before?

There used to be brackets available for under the gl1100 fairing to mount driving/aux lights but most are discontinued. Other than finding a used set, you would have to fabricate brackets or drill into the fairing under the vents.

These are some pictures I downloaded of gl1100s with driving lights.

You can also mount clamps on the crash bars to mount lights to.

I had clamp brackets on my 83 gl1100 crashbars.

Thanks newday. I have lower mount light now and lost one due to gravel on the short distance to my house. I am opting for a higher mount. I am considering a bar similar to your photo and maybe utilizing the horn mounts. There is a motorcycle recycle shop nearby I'll have to check out for something that will work. Ride safe.
