Shifting fork

Post by GlimWas » Sat Oct 06, 2018 8:02 am

A friend of mine has the dreaded gearbox problem and has learned the shifting fork is not available anymore in the the Netherlands.........
Does anyone know if it's still available in the USA? I have some connections within the Airline world and know somebody who knows somebody , so shipping won't be an issue.

You could check partzilla also, you might find the part for a lower price.

Apparently, the shiftforks weren't the problem, it's the shifter rings front, center and rear wich aren't available anymore, even in the US......
Number 14, 15 and 16.........

I believe it was 1997 when they beefed up the transmission to the Valkyrie version. It may be that the older version parts are no longer available for that reason. But, the newer version parts for the '97 appear to still be available. Whether they would be interchangeable in the older transmission, I don't know. Maybe someone here can answer that question. But, the newer version would be the preferred direction, if they will fit.
Parts # 15, 16, 17

Also, I have found that dealers have a search tool available that shows if parts are available at ANY dealership in the country, and where they are located. You may have a dealer do a search for the older parts if that is the only option available. I found the last known gauge cluster for my 1997 via that method. Well, actually it was a '98 or '99, with the white gauges that I preferred. I contacted the dealership, had them put hands on it, and bought it. Pure good luck, when it was available nowhere else in the country.

Not for the '95 GL1500. Discontinued it says for all 3 shifters. The forks aren't the problem, the shifters are. And i don't know if the '97 parts will fit........
Probably not as the parts list is slightly different between the years (extra parts)

Have you checked cmsnl.com for new parts?

And for used parts;
https://goldwing.nl/en/
https://wingsandparts.com/nl/
https://www.boonstraparts.com/en/parts/ ... 0(GL1500)/
Obviously that were the first sites i looked for the parts......... The dealer my friend went to is one of them
