Heel/Toe Shifter

I’ve searched multiple times and found a few threads, but nothing on point or conclusive. Maybe there’s additional information out there that I’ve not seen yet.

My lower legs and feet don’t operate well cuz of nerve damage making it difficult to use a standard gear shifter. My bikes for the last 25 years had heel/toe shifters. I really like h/t shifters, except on the GL1200. The Markland set-up that I had were awkward, like they were an afterthought.

My searches showed that J C Whitney sold a heel/toe shifter that didn’t need floorboards. I’d love to have that shifter but haven’t seen any on eBay. I’d even appreciate a picture or good description of it or any other h/t shifter that works.

I've never personally seen one but, you could find someone that is good at fabrication, get them to measure the area for the shifter and observe you sitting on the bike, shifting the gears and fabricate one from an old shifter. It shouldn't be very hard to build one. Then have it powder coated for appearance.

They are afterthoughts, none came factory on the bike. I've seen just H&T shifters with no floorboards years ago, many years ago. All the shifter needed for mount was that FB bracket with pivot as I recall. I removed my FBs and H&T shifter, reverting to OEM years ago. As I recall, if a bracket was built, it lookedlike it would have worked with feet pegs too. I sold mine long ago but they do show up on ebay.

Thanks, you confirmed what I was thinking. Take a left side FB bracket, rework it to fit the peg, hook it up to the OEM shifter and call it good...I hope. Will be keeping my eyes on eBay too.
