Hi could any one help me? Got problem with gl 1100 it starts and runs fine over 1500 revs but has metallic knocking noise around a 1000. Carbs have been reconditioned. I have tried to balance my carbs with vacuum gauges but gauges showing no vacuum. Have checked valve timings and all seems right. Any one any ideas whats causing the banging noise could be?

I'm guessing it is carbs out balance. If out of balance these bikes knock and rattle like crazy. The sound is primary chain rattle.

John F. Kennedy would be impeached by todays liberal Democratic socialist party.

if your gauges are showing zero vacuum on a running engine then either the gauges are dead or the connections between them and the engine are leaking vacuum.
