Having lost my Goldwing manual via .PDF that was stored on my P/C through a computer crash I now need to beg information. Can anyone help me with how much oil I should use to replace the oil in my front fork tubes? I rebuilt them and am stuck on how much to add.
Thank you
Front fork damper oil capacity.

Hi Baron...
I can supply you with a copy of part off the Clymer manual for the GL1000 ( for this time).
The system doesn't allow me to post the entire manual; I'll see how to overcame this issue.
I hope this can help to keep your bike in top shape.
Should you need any more info, just ask for.
Mario

from a full rebuild , that is drained completely, the honda manual says 200 mm . per fork.
whatever you do, DO NOT take Randakks advice to fill ,leaving 160 mm free space.that is WAY too much.
repeated emails asking him to change this ( one more bit of bad advice ) seems to fall on deaf ears.

The "book" says 200cc.. of oil not 200mm in measurement for a rebuild.aussiegold wrote: ↑Wed Dec 05, 2018 3:49 amfrom a full rebuild , that is drained completely, the honda manual says 200 mm . per fork.

Just a drain and refill takes 160cc due to some oil trapped in the fork assembly.
There is a method by which one measures the distance from the top of the fork to the oil(without the spring and tube extended) but I really don't remember what it is.
I'm sure 160mm isn't right. That would have way too much oil in the shock...even 200mm to the oil is too close...

Re: Front fork damper oil capacity.
Virgil you are correct. I had gotten millimeters mixed with milliliters. Sorry.
200 cc is in fact 200 ml.
The method of measuring free space is a little harder than pouring in a measured amount, so in my opinion , it is better to add what the manual says.
