Any idea what the diameter of the original Firecreek gauges are? They fill out the panel nicely.

I'm wondering, , , , Would there be any interest, or advantage in getting the "Gauge Visor" at the same time when purchasing a new Unobtainium 2.0 panel???
It could be an "OPTION" but there would have to be an additional charge for the visor. It looks VERY seamless mounted on the panel, , , ,

The oil pressure and voltmeter seem to be a popular combination for this panel, , They look great too!!!

Any and all ideas/feedback welcome!!!
Let me know when this is for sale, I'll get one for my panel!
Winging it every chance I get 8-)

19,119 miles when I got it from dad Oct 15, 2017 --- 26,005 miles and counting as of June 10, 2019!

Stew (and anyone else interested in the gauge visor),

The gauge visor is available for $15.00 +$3.95 S/H from Airtech Fabricators in Glendale AZ. The link to it is on the first page of this thread, but here it is again,
http://www.dashvisor.com/Gauge-Visor.html

I'm waiting for a call-back from Jim, the owner to pick his brain and get a handful of those visors. I left a message but he hasn't called back yet.

I would include the visor with the panel shipping so you could save the $3.95 S/H

UPDATE: I just spoke to Jim at Airtech Fabricators and he is checking to see what he has as inventory/material. I should know more within a few days. He sounds like a really nice gentleman so I'm hoping to be able to offer the visor as an option in the near future.

GWJTurner, the Firecreek gauges were called 2" gauges, IIRC. The Unobtainium 2.0 is identical and will accommodate the same size gauges.

I spoke to Jim at Airtech Fabricators and bought a small number of visors for the Unobtainium 2.0 panels, they should be arriving next week.

He (Jim) charges just under $19 (shipping included) for the visors, but IF it is purchased along with an Unobtainium 2.0 panel, the cost for the visor will be $16.50 and shipped in the same box as the panel. Anyone interested in the Visor ALONE, the cost will be the same as Jim would charge (under $19).

They are a seamless fit/appearance when mounted and will solve any "sun glare" for daytime riding, or "night reflection" off the windshield for nighttime riding.

The Gauge Visors came in and they'll make a great addition to your panel!! They clearly block direct sunlight and will easily prevent "reflection" off the windshield for night-riding.

I used some double-sided tape for the pictures, , the tape is NOT a long-term option though, , I'm including a tap-screw with each purchase of the visor that will be the long-term solution. The visors are a black "cow-hide" texture and matches the panel nicely.

Just finishes installing my Volt gauge and front/back balancer. Went for a long ride and had no problem reading the gauge in the sunlight. The green numbers are nice and clear while riding but not so clear in the picture, must have been the angle. I haven't ridden at night yet to see if there is any reflection on the windshield, if there is I will order the visor.

GOOD JOB with that install. I think you did a fine job with that voltmeter, and fader mounting. If sun glare becomes a problem, I have a few gauge visors on hand, or you can contact Jim at Airtech Fabricators out of AZ. He's a good guy and he'll take care of you.

Is that the fader that came "stock" with the GL1500?? If it is, I love how it mounts nicely on the left node. A few "interested" riders were wondering if they could install their stock fader there, and I had no answer for them, , , , NOW I DO!!! Thanks

As far as I know that is the original fader. It was mounted in a small hump in the middle of the old panel. I just got the trike last July from American Trikes & Motorsports in NH, I traded in my 2007 Suzuki C50 with a Voyager Kit. This rides so much nicer and the wife loves the nice seat and smooth ride.

'll be dealing with a family issue and will be unable to send out any panels until after July 1, 2019.

My brother, who flew down to California last year just to be my "wingman" after I put my beast back together, was diagnosed with bladder cancer and is going "under-the-knife" on Monday (6/17) at Mayo Clinic in AZ. He's the best brother anyone could have, , , and all "prayers" or "good thoughts" would be appreciated.

Respectfully,
Blu

Hey Dennis, I'm very sorry about your brother, but with you there for him he should at the very least feel better about it all. Keep a positive outlook, and things will work out.
