Apparently the police in San Antonio now use Goldwings:

They have been using them a while. Here is one for sale in San Antonio with 148,587 miles.

I would be willing to bet that the ROI on the Goldwings is far cheaper than using the HD brand.

nearly zero maintenance, compared to the HD

I bet they spend a lot more time in service and a lot less time in the garage then the Harley's.

 I'll bet their kidneys are thanking them - Harleys are tough on kidneys. Ask me how I know...

Sheriff's department in Houston used to have Wings too. Had a deputy pass me in 2012 on hiway 290. We left the Lone Star rally and got caught in heavy rain. I checked up to 50mph due to visibility and he rolled by me had to have been 70 or better with a quick wave and was gone. S.A.'s been on wings for at least 4 years that I know of. I looked at a used police bike 3 years ago. It stayed in the sale sites for a while before it finally went.
