6.5" Speakers & A Double Din Touchscreen Radio

Post by kyleboedeker » Fri Apr 12, 2019 11:16 am

Hey All,

Just finished installing my new speakers and amp and radio in my 88 GL1500A. I'm not completely satisfied with the housing I made for the radio, but I think it looks decent. I bought the bike pretty cheap, so it's actually been nice not being afraid to do some crazy customization. If it had been a newer, more expensive bike, I definitely wouldn't have been drilling holes and screwing stuff to it :).

Looks fine.
Cover with vinyl and away you go.
You plan on a face protector and rain cover?

Yeah I was thinking about it. I'll probably try to cut one out of lexan and put it on a hinge or something.

Think about the mischief kids and Harley factor.

It definitely needs some cleaning up but i think it looks great. Try sanding the edges to round them a bit and it will look 10 times better. Nevermind if you are gonna cover with vinyl (i wouldnt)
Great idea.
I thought about doing something similar but using kydex. Its really easy to mold. I would make a template out of wood and mold the kydex to it.
