FORK SEAL REPLACEMENT 82 GL1100I

Post by OTTERCOMET » Mon Apr 15, 2019 2:44 pm

This project bike needs new fork seals (which I have) in order to pass Ontario Canada safety inspection.. I have the right fork apart and component inspection indicates I should be replacing the slider bushing. There is no Teflon coating left on the outside of the bushing (all copper) - inside Teflon is completely in tact. No scoring or scratching visible anywhere on tube or slider.

How critical is the suggested replacement? Reason for asking is that I cannot find any source for replacement of this bushing.

Help/suggestions appreciated.

Further adventures of a fellow Canadian GL1100 owner. I feel for you buddy. :) I found both bushings for you. They are available from several sources but the first two are:

Partszilla.com $9.36 for the upper
Babbittsonline.com $9.24 for the upper
Partszilla.com $11.10 for the lower
Babbittsonline.com $10.96 for the lower

I'm also pretty sure they're still available new from Honda. Hope that helps you get it fixed and passed inspection.

Thanks - I'll be looking them up. Lowers look good but it is great to have a source identified.
