82 naked wing. No Hi beam, only low beam!

Post by Deadwing94 » Sun Jun 09, 2019 9:18 pm

I wired new turn signals onto my bobber project. Everything has been working fine. Didn't add any more voltage to the system or try pulling any more. For some reason once it was all back together, I've totally lost high beam power but the low beam works fine. I have no idea what to test. I know basically nothing about relays and wiring or the lingo associated with it all. If someone has had this experience, or knows where to look, please help! I got everything torn apart and I've tested anything I personally can without continually blowing the headlight fuse

Your last comment..
Do you blow the headlight fuse when you select high beam?

There are no headlight relays on an 1100 and the same fuse powers both low and high. If you have no power to the blue wire I would suspect the high/low switch.

My thoughts too.Its easy to pinch those wires when the switch assembly is secured back. The wires have just a small space that they live in.

Found it. It was a soldered and taped wire that I didn't see was broken under the tape. Thank you though! I did go through the switch and it had power leaving the switch on hi and low so I traced the wires and voila!
