Motorcycle parking at work and dog food.

Post by Stew » Tue Jun 11, 2019 5:46 pm

Motorcycle parking at work. This day wasn't too crowded, sometimes the bikes are squished next to each other and we still run out of room, a nice benefit of riding to work besides the carpool lane on the freeway is you get front row parking right next to the carpool and disabled parking spots. I'm still not sure who the other 1500 owner is, mine is of course the one without the front disc cover. There's a couple 1800's that I see regularly as well.

Getting dog food.

Winging it every chance I get 8-)

19,119 miles when I got it from dad Oct 15, 2017 --- 26,975 miles and counting as of Aug 15, 2019!

My work only has enough space in the motorcycle parking area for three bikes.

However, I find it’s usually enough because I’m the only regular rider. There’s one other woman that rides some kind of nekid 600 Kawi and some else that rides a little Harley. I only see those a couple times a month even in the good weather times.

I mostly have the whole space to myself and even when they do ride they leave the larger middle spot for me.

Motorcycle Parking at work is really nice, it's right next to the rear entrance that I normally use anyway 'cause it's the closest to my office.

Usually a couple Crotch-Rockets, 2 or 3 Hardleys, sometimes a funky three-wheeled thing with the two front wheels only a couple feet apart. There's a guy with a blue GL1800, but he usually parks out in the main front parking...

Don't have any dogs, the cat food fits in the saddlebags...

Motorcycle parking at work is pretty good. Maybe about 15 spaces total. :)

We just started a new project and there are 30-40 motorcycle spots right in the front. The only two I’ve seen so far are me and a well used crotch-rocket. We have about 1/2 mile of well packed unpaved road to travel on to get in and out, so I only ride on days it definitely won’t rain. Washing the mud from the road off my truck is a PITA. The stuff sets up like concrete.
The only rules while driving on company property are; have to wear a helmet and no seat belt required.
We have a lot of HD riders that work there, but it’s probably too hot and dusty for them. They have no where to keep a cover and their chrome would get dirty.

That’s a cruel question!
2-3 years on this project then about 3 more years on another and I can ask the same question.

I got a laugh out of the big bag of dog food on the seat! (I have a big dog, too, so it's familiar to me).

It's truly amazing what you can get on a 'Wing. A few years ago, I needed to transport a Johnson 9.9 hp. outboard motor, and all I had available for transport was my GL1500.

I strapped it on its side, crosswise across the passenger's seat, and off I went.

As I cruised down the highway, I kept getting smirks & laughter from people in passing cars. I thought "Well, it's funny, but it's not THAT funny!".....until I looked in the mirror.

The outboard was in neutral, and its propeller was spinning away to beat the band in the wind. When I stopped at the next traffic light, the guy next to me called out the window, saying "Hey, does that HELP?" I said "Yeah - the bike's faster, and I get WAY more fuel mileage!!"

I thought it might have been "ride your BMW bike" to work day or something.
