83 gas cap

1983 gl1100 interstate does anyone know what gas cap can be used to replace the original

I understand they are not available , look for a used one or soaking it brake cleaner or even vinegar will clean out the vent hole if that's the problem.

Soaking them overnight in Seafoam works really well. I would probably avoid vinegar, it's acidic and might do bad things to the metals inside it.

I left my original gas cap in a bucket of Seafoam for 3 or 4 days while I worked on the bike not only is it functioning properly again the Seafoam also removes all the tarnish and it looks brand new
