Washed my bike...

Post by Big Bob » Sun Aug 04, 2019 10:13 am

.....the old fashioned way with soap, and water from a garden hose. So when finishing and drying with towels and I noticed some soapy bubbles in the tail lamps, just a little along the bottom on the inside of the fixture. I was very careful NOT to spray very hard especially around the trunk and seat area because I have a Ultimate king seat, I had covers on so IT doesn't get any water on it, god forbid. Anyone else ever seen or heard of this? Or are the fixtures just that poorly made? Kinda weird IMO, anyone else with this problem?

It's probably just Blinker Fluid. Not to worry.

There is a small flange that extends out from the lens leg that is sealed to the housing/ Water gets trapped under this flange. Finish your wash job with a leaf blower to get rid of the water!

I always wash my bike with a pail of soapy water and a garden hose, and dry it with a leaf blower, never had a problem with water doing any damage or getting in any where. It is a touring bike and should be able to get wet without any problems.
