Corbin saddlebag doors

Post by Rambozo »

I have been looking at these as a solution to be able to secure two full face helmets, but I have yet to find any confirmation that is possible. I know the trunk is basically a lost cause unless you have small helmets. Telling me how many extra liters the bags hold is near useless info unless I want to carry water. They say nearly 2" wider, but not what that makes the total width. Also I can see the shape is odd enough that I'm not sure it is helmet sized or not.

I don't think you'll be able to put a full face helmet in there unless Corbin says you can in their ads. Did they?

I can tell you the trunk with the Corbin Hi-Capacity lid will definitely hold a full faced modular helmet and a 3/4 helmet, but I'm not sure about the saddle bag lids, especially if you have Honda's amplifier mounted in the left saddlebag. I can check to see if the right saddlebag will hold a full faced modular and a 3/4 helmet if that will help you out.

You can not put two full faced helmets in the saddlebags even with the Corbin Hi-Capacity lids. I verified it yesterday.

Can you put 1 full face in the saddlebag with the extended lids?

I could not fit my full faced modular helmet in my saddlebags with the Corbin lids. But then again my helmet is an XXL with a JMCORP integrated bluetooth headset installed. If you have a Tour model Goldwing, I would purchase the Hi-Capacity lid for the trunk if storing and securing a full faced helmet is a requirement. I have both the Hi-Capacity Corbin lids for the trunk and saddlebags, and I can store my full faced modular helmet and a 3/4 helmet in my trunk.

Thanks for the update. I'm glad to see they added a hi-cap trunk lid. I had seen that from a European company, but not as easy to get. Nice that Corbin has that now. Do you think two full face helmets will fit in the trunk or is the one and three quarter about the limit? I specifically got a 1500 as there is no trouble getting two in the trunk, but I would like to upgrade my ride, someday. Seeing the Goldwing luggage get smaller and smaller over the years wasn't a good sign.

I really can't comment on whether two full faced helmets will fit in the trunk with Corbin Hi-Capacity lid. I'll assume it depends on what size helmets you are talking about (as I said mine is an XXL; and the 3/4 helmet is also an XXL - both with JMCORP Integrated BT-4 Headsets. If you have two Large shell helmets it may fit.

Ok, I had a buddy bring his full face helmet over to see if two full face helmets will fit in the trunk with the Corbin Hi-Capacity Trunk Lid. The answer is NO and it isn't even close!

1 - Full Face Modular and a 3/4 helmet: YES
2 - Full Face Helmets: NO

Thanks for checking that. Seems pretty lame for a bike that carries two people.

Before the Corbin-Hi Capacity lid, I couldn't put either helmet inside the trunk. Now I can put a full faced AND a 3/4 face helmet in with no problems. The new wing's reduced storage capacity was well publicized by all the forums I belong to and documented in every major motorcycle magazine that covered the new model launch, so this didn't sneak up on anyone. I pull a matching Bushtec Trailer on my road trips so the reduced capacity was of no issue for me at the time of purchase.
