Steering limiter on handlebars?

Post by winglover1 » Tue Jan 07, 2020 2:13 pm

Greetings from Virginia.
I was recently rear ended on my 93 GL1500 and now the handlebar, only on the right side (brake lever) hit the right rear view mirror. The left is fine. I put the bike on it's center stand and centered the handlebars and the tire is straight.
Is there a stop somewhere I can adjust or replace to prevent this. It makes maneuvering at slow speed, very risky!

Help

Bill

Sounds more like the "rear-end" event caused your handlebars to skip a tooth upward which will make them hit the mirror before the "stop" is reached. Loosen the handlebar bracket (under the ignition panel) and move the handlebars backward (down) one notch and you should be back to where it was.
