1992 Fuel injected GL1500

Post by oldbirdman » Wed Jan 08, 2020 6:12 am

`1 have read in several places that the 1500 was never fuel injected. Well today I looked at a 1992 fuel injected GL1500. How can this be ? I'm interested in buying ... does anybody know of any problems with this model ?

It didn't come from the factory injected, somebody would've had to convert it with a bunch of aftermarket/custom parts.

this one was done by a forum member named Outlaw.

unfortunately, all of the pix are hosted on Photobucket and they refuse to let us see them unless he pays them $400 per year. which he chose not to do

http://www.goldwingfacts.com/forums/2-g ... oject.html

he lives in Phoenix, AZ and his last post was in August 2016....
I sent him a PM, but if his profile does not have a notice for PMs, he won't get the email that I sent.
or if that email is dead.............

he got it running very well, he can control the way it operates with a laptop.

I just went back and looked to see where you are:

and I seriously doubt that the bike I described is in Australia... however, it might be, it is just now old enough to be imported into AU land.

look to see if the bike you are looking at is EFI or Throttle Body?

Outlaw's is EFI using gl1800 components.

In either case, that would be a bad bike to purchase.

If it’s the same article I remember reading it was quite lengthy and the intake was made from scratch. From parts acquired from a hardware store and welded together. There were a lot of bugs to iron out as you can imagine and I can’t remember if he ever did quite get it running smoothly.
