Rear brake lever

Post by Papamark » Wed Jan 15, 2020 9:30 am

Has anyone tried to extend or modify the rear brake lever for better use with Markland floorboards?
Trying to brainstorm ideas because I don't really like using my heel to push the brakes instead of my toes like on a regular set up.

My 1200 had Markland FBs on it when purchased, it had a heel rest with them too so your heel rested up higher. You brake with toe still. I think it would be very difficult to properly modulate the rear brake without a heel rest.

I don't have a picture of those in place on the 1200, but I have a picture of side of my '97 1500 that shows same deal. On the 1200, the heel rest was bolted on in same place with rear of FB bracket where foot-pegs OEM went, but it was a separate piece. Like a chrome angle with a peg sticking out as I recall.
On the '97 1500, it's part of the mount, I made one to use on shift side too with my own toe shift and scrapped the H&T shift.
