97 Goldwing quite / runs again

My 97 Goldwing 1500 was running then quit, would not turn over at all. Lights,horn,directionals all working. Jump start off another vehicle starting immediately continued to run without any other incident. Directly afterwards it started without any problems. The only thing I noticed before it quit the volume in the radio went quiet and the clock display and radio display intermittent flashed back and forth. Battery checked out as good being checked at160 CCA. Since this happened the bike appears to be running fine 196 miles. With this happening I am reluctant to ride it to far from home. Any help in this matter is greatly appreciated! Thanks Kenn H.

you need to put a Voltmeter on the battery while the engine is running at 2000 RPM or more.

should be 14.3 Volts if the battery is charged.

if it is reading in the 12 volt range, the charging system is in trouble, or the battery is old and needs to be replaced.

the 1500s need at least 10.75 volts measured at the battery during the Starter Cranking period.
and that is the minimum, a good AGM battery will hold at least 11.5 volts while cranking.

get a 330 CCA AGM battery and I feel that your problems will go away.
( assumes the alternator is good )

This all assumes that all of the primary wiring between Alternator, fuses, and battery are clean, tight, and free of corrosion. Plus the wires from the Battery to the Starter relays 'A' and 'B' must also be tight, free of corrosion.
