Windshield and Muffler

Post by aholloway17 » Sat May 23, 2020 11:04 am

Hi All,

I have a Chrome Windshield Trim Panel that just doesn't lay flat where it attached by the connections point by the mirrors so it leaves this big gap on a 94. Any suggestions on how to correct that? Secondly, does anyone make chrome muffler covers to replace the stock ones?

Cheers,

Happy Memorial Day!

I didn't see a picture so didn't see "this big gap" you mention, but you can adjust the levers that pull the trim against the wind shield to lock it in place if too loose. As to chrome muffler covers … you could start the trend, have a set chromed, then paint the forward part to match the bike and transition from paint to chrome with flame tips. Seems to me I recall seeing a 1500 with chrome lower cowl and exhaust covers somewhere?

Mine bike is an interstate. Is this lever you describe covered by the boot around to mirror? Because there are no levers on the outside as I've seen on other models.

Interstate doesn't have windshield adjusters, you have to remove the chrome garnish to change height of the shield.

I also have an, i believe, aftermarket garnish and it fits pretty poorly on the right side by the mirror. I ended up putting the wrong kind of screw in it and forcing it, it is better but not right. Came that way tho so I'm living with it.
