I have a 2008 gl 1800. Is there a way to connect a female USB port to the aux audio cable in the left front pocket so l could play music from a thumbdrive (flashdrive) connected to it

Not to my knowledge. Any possibility of doing this is done in the trunk by adding a sound unit that can be found either on ebay or from J&M Audio.

No, but there are jillions of older MP3 players out there that will plug into a USB power plug (you can install a 12V cigarette lighter socket in the pocket and put a USB power adapter in it) and that have an earphone jack that you can plug the AUX cable into.

Thanks for the replies. I am very electronically challenged so it was just a thought.

You could consider old-school MP3 player...

Bullet-proof, and the newer versions would probably last quite a while before needing to recharge batteries.

If you've installed a power port, and get one of those adapters the fits into the power port for power, but the face of it has either 1 or 2 USB ports. You can get cheap ones nearly any where, even at 7-11. However, the cheap ones often have a short life, so I often pay more money for them at an Office Depo, Best Buy, or a Verizon Wireless store.
