I use the RainX on my cages. It works very nicely. The water just beads up and rolls off. I still run my wipers, but very seldom more than just the slowest intermittent setting.

RainX works great on glass, but don't use it on acrylic/polycarbonate/plexiglass windshields!

They make a special RainX just for plastic windshields, but I find it doesn't work anywhere near as well as this RainCoat product.

The links from the past threads to this product no longer work, is it still available? The last time the guy who said he is the maker of it was active here was 2015.

Interesting, Amazon also shows it currently unavailable:

https://www.amazon.com/MotoSolutions-Ra ... op?ie=UTF8

Their web sites list quite a few distributors:

https://motosolutions.com/distributors/

A Google search shows up a couple vendors still selling it.

I'll ask and see what might be going on.

I looked through the distributor list and 90% of them are professional site and do not deal with public and the rest mostly are sports and have the anti fog for goggles. The fact that the aircraft place no longer carries it makes me think it is gone or did not live up to expectations. I have learned that those distributor lists are pretty much useless, if you do get hold of someone they usually will tell you they never even heard of the stuff let alone don't carry it. I have seen that with many products that have "distributor lists". They probably sent a sample to the company so now they are a "distributor" whether they know it or not.

I just stumbled onto this review and was pretty excited about using it on my helmet visor but, like others, I couldn't find a distributor that has it, so I emailed Moto Solutions. Will see if I get a reply. WingAdmin, are you still using it?

Update: I did find this distributor. Water Repellent Coating Wipes by MotoSolutions 4 Pack I emailed them and asked if they still carry the product.

I've only ever gotten it from them directly: http://motosolutions.com/

There is a fair list of distributors listed on their site: https://motosolutions.com/distributors/

Hi I'm new here so I hope I'm doing this right. I read your post that you didn't like rain-x for plastic on your GW.
I love Rain-x for my car so I bought Rain-x for plastic for my GW, got hit by rain yesterday and compared to the Rain -x for cars I was very disappointed. Can't seem to order Rain Coat now from Amazon but will try to get a hold of it in the future to try.
Thanks for the info.

There is a product called Rain X for automobiles it gets applied to your windshield each time you use the washer. There is a video on youtube guy doing 60 in rain storm on the highways without using his wipers.
Yes, it works really well on glass but it is not formulated for plastic.
Rain-X has a product that is made for plastic and it works very well.
I've tried many products and Rain-X for plastic is excellent. It sprays on and wipes off easily, not un-like some thicker paste type products. No heavy rubbing required and the rain water beads up and blows away.

Well I don't know what I did wrong with the Rain X for plastic. I put it on GW twice since May.
When I rode in the rain between 50 and 60 mph the water did bead but didn't roll away like on my car windshield. I was disappointed in the product.

It may have something to do with the type of windshield on your motorcycle. I use the Tulsa style windshield which is virtually identical to the Slipstreamer windshield and they have a pretty good rake to them, not unlike an automobile windshield. If the Rain X didn't work for your windshield, there is no guarantee that the Moto Solutions Raincoat will.

I've tried them both and the Raincoat worked like the Rain X on my Tulsa windshield. But it is just too hard to wipe off during the application process. And the price, if I remember correcly, was twice the price of the Rain X. And now Raincaot is virtually impossible to find. Rain X is still readily available.
